Deca Wake

It was an impromptu invite from Alyssa. The night before, she called me up asking if i’d want to come with her and a friend to Deca. I was unsure because I don’t know most of her friends and I might get out of place but then I gave in. It would be nice to finally see Deca.

So I met up with them the next morning. Found out that it going to be only the three of us: Me, Lysa and Ping.

For those of you who don’t know, Deca is a subdivision located at Mintal, Davao City. Its Davao’s mini CamSur’s wakeboarding resort. You can get there from 2 routes. Either you use the Skyline road or the Ulas-Mintal Road. For me, the Skyline road is more convenient avoiding traffic. But if you’re a tripper, you can use the Ulas-Mintal road.

You can wake board there for half a day (P300) or a whole day (P400-P500). When you’re a homeowner you get discounts or free rides (on some occasions). They say, Deca has the cheapest wakeboarding rates in the Philippines.

The whole day, Lysa and I watched Ping do her stunts on the water. We enjoyed watching other people. I haven’t tried wake boarding yet for I feel i’m not “YET” physically fit for the sport. But Lysa have tried it once and she recalled the few  tries she had with the knee board. She told me about the feeling of it and that she wants to try it again.

The whole day while watching, we took pictures of ourselves goofing around. There wasn’t that much to do at Deca wake unless you go for the ride. If you’re not the rider type, then i guess taking pictures or talking with someone will kill the time.

If you’re hungry, well, do not bring food anymore. They don’t allow food and drinks in the resort. They do have a mini restaurant where you can order food. They have Spaghetti, Pancit Canton, Hungarian Sausage, etc. For me, the food was quite expensive. But I guess its quite understandable because the resort is actually far from the city where you can buy supplies. For those of you who are trying to save, you can actually eat inside the subdivision. You just have to know where. I got to eat Mandarin Chicken for P25 inside the subd. Ask the trike drivers for a near “karinderya“.

We also took pictures of riders doing their stunts, showing off. They were actually good but i guess they could still improve. There are better riders in CamSur compared to what I’ve seen in Deca but of course, everybody gets better with practice. Deca’s new so i guess its sabotable.

After a very very long day, it was really an experience watching. For a while, i’ve thought about trying it despite being not-so physically fit for it. But we’ll see. Until next time.
