On TOPS of the world!

After almost 10 months of staying here, Cebu is still a place for me to discover. There’s still a lot.. and i mean a lot of places still to be recognized. As a foodie and a little bit of an explorer, I need to find these places and appreciate their wonders.

To start the month of March, my friends invited me to go to this place where you feel like you’re in heaven. Literally because you’re at the top of the metropolis. The highest place in Cebu. They call it TOPS. I’ve heard about this place many times, but this was the only time that I was able to actually come and see it.

The place is not really that far from the city. It’s just a few minutes travel up. Maybe about 15 to 20 minutes. You need to have your own transportation to get there or be ready to pay a lot for taxi and you don’t want that because usually Cebu taxi drivers charge too much and sometimes they trick passengers. Not all of them though. Well, just make arrangements in advance.

The road going up is very steep and very narrow which makes it quite exciting. 10 minutes in the ride you could actually see a beautiful view of the back side of Cebu. It’s very different. It’s less city like but that’s not the view you really wanna see. As you travel up, you’d see different establishments, from restaurants to hotels and many other things. And you might want to check them out right after you get to your destination: The TOPS!

Now, finally you’re there. Just pay the P100 each entrance fee and you can now enjoy the view and the beauty of TOPS, Cebu.

The view is really breathtaking. You’d never think you’d see something like that. And its really cold up there, parang nasa Tagaytay lang.
