(It’s almost 5am in the morning, but I need to write this down now before I forget all the details. Everything’s still fresh despite the fact that I got home at 4am)
We had our thesis defense yesterday (Technically, it’s already Sunday), and everyone was excited and anxious at the same time. Excited because finally, the half part of the research study will be over and anxious because it is our first time defending a research study we made from scratch. Of course with the help of related literatures and studies.
As usual, they planned the party the day before the defense (I have classmates who really likes to party. That includes me too). Right after the defense, people gathered to talk whether or not the party would push through. The guys suggested to bring and play poker. And then its decided. 8pm was the call time. The rule was “Bring your own food or drinks“.
Gem was there first, but since she’s only an adopted 4C, I was technically there first. I waited inside the car for a few minutes and Tine asked me to get inside. I brought a left over The Bar bottle from my previous party and that was my contribution.
People started coming at around 9pm. People I didn’t expect were there. That’s to my master, Luis and to the girls of group 1, Eva, Jeanna, Kat, Berna and Tines (well, Kim R. also went. And she never regret coming. she had a blast). I was expecting there’ll be only about 10 people or even lesser than that. We played charades as usual over The Bar, Red Horse, and Food (Dinugu-an, Spaghetti, Lumpia, Kaldereta and I wasn’t sure if it was really Turkey or duck.), Mela’y payment as Jacky’s clown for her brother/sister’s birthday party.
At around 10pm, Voltaire arrived from who-knows-where and some of the girls were leaving because they had to wake up early the next morning (which is today). The guys played poker inside the house while the rest continued playing charades outside. The drinking continued to and that would be a secret on who got drunk.
We ended up at around 2am in the morning. But those left decided we want Sundaes from McDonald’s. Everyone left including the host of the party and went to McDonald’s Matina. Unfortunately, they don’t serve Sundaes anymore because it was 2am. We went to McDonald’s Bajada to try if they have. Unfortunately, their sundae machine is broken. So since there are no sundaes for us, we had this wild idea to just buy ice cream from Wheels and More Compound Convenience store and enjoy it somewhere else.
We ended up enjoying it at the parking lot on the floor. It was an experience. 12 of us sharing a half gallon of ice cream. We were like little kids. But it was cool. At least we got sobered. Sadly, no one brought a camera and not a single moment was captured. Next time, i will make sure i will bring a camera or someone else will.
